Day Eleven to
St Helena
At ten I got up to find we are beyond
the Greenwich Meridian. YEHAA. Bear took a practice shot of the VHF radio screen with 697 seconds to go to zero. Sadly, the
zeros were out of focus so the next one is 63 seconds into the West YEHAA and
YAY. We crossed at four thirty UTC or six thirty ship’s
time. Thought about shouting out but wasn’t sure if Pepe was
soundo.
Where we
actually crossed – 445 nmiles from St
Helena.
Todays “Happy
Pictures”, must get one of you for the
record........
I simply couldn’t take the pressure
and whining three days on the trot, so I
took every risk and was quite pleased with myself at losing five nil, bit of an
achievement I felt.
Realising there were still two loaves
in the fridge, I fed Bear two rounds of chicken sandwiches with a side
salad.
Revenge was sweet when I crushed him
at Mex Train Doms. Growling, it all went your
way. Touché Môn Ami.......
The rest of the day followed the same
pattern.
I did get excited at ten past five
this morning when the wind was sufficient (and I felt brave enough in the pitch
black) to let out the genoa and TURN THE ENGINE OFF. I went to bed with just
under three minutes left in the eastern hemisphere or about half an hour to
cross the Meridian. Talking of wind the following
always makes me laugh.......
At six this morning we had covered
120 nmiles.
Total completed 1289
nauttical miles.
ALL IN ALL A BIT MOMENTOUS
GREAT GLEE, PEPE FOUND THE WIND AS WE REJOIN THE WESTERN
