                | Our Picturesque Flight on
Daffy the Sea Plane Out for our bimble along the shore of
Lake Te Anau from our campsite, we saw the office of Wings
and Water. Neither of us have taken off from or landed on the water, I
asked Bear if he would like to. Weeeeeellllllllll. I went to take a further step and
heard it would be a wow wouldn’t it. Foot
changed direction mid air and pointed it toward the office. Allan welcomed us
and we arranged for a flight at half past two. This gave us chance to nip back
to Mabel for the other cameras. We took off from Lake Te Anau in Daffy – named by Allan not us, he told us
there are only five like her in New
Zealand, and turned toward the mountains. We saw tarns and burns, rivers
and fiords, hills and snow, Allan pointed out all the features and named the
various peaks, showing us the Milford Road – today not a snowflake in sight, the
power lines from the power station and took us over both the Doubtful and
Milford Sounds. Words do little to describe what we saw so we leave it to the
pictures. Allan told us some wonderful flying stories of his time in Fiji,
saving a little boys life, taking off with a nurse and a passenger and landing
with two ladies and a baby. Allan doesn’t do photographs so I had to grab him as
we said our ‘thank you’ and ‘farewell’. ALL IN ALL SO MANY WORDS TO
DESCRIBE THE BEAUTY
