St Helena Valentine's Date
Night
 We popped into Anne’s Place to send a
few emails after we had collected the hire car. Our
table looking lovely.
 A French yachtsman saw me and entwined two blooms and presented them. How
sweet.
  We returned at five to see The Garden being watered.
   Anne’s daughter-in-law putting the
finishing touches to the Valentine’s
decor.

 My meal of
the tenderest lamb shank, mash, carrots and beans went from an eight out of ten
to a nine and a half when a steaming hot gravy boat arrived (would have made ten
if there had been mint sauce or a raspberry jus). A sweet rose wine and the
company wasn’t too bad, accompanied by romantic old ballads.
 My
Valentine went for belly pork.
 Sunset as
we took the water taxi home with Paul. I lost at backgammon and then we flopped
into bed to watch an episode of Boston Legal.
