Return to Charlotte
Amalie
Accompanied through
the narrows by this ferry complete with Mack truck, that starts my day well
Even skipper is looking
pleased and confident
Perhaps it's because he managed to get
a nice shot of the seaplane
landing
We found a nice big spot to drop the hook - right next to
Freya of Clyde
Ann and Alan were
just returning from a shopping trip and came aboard for a cup of tea and a catch
up. Then we went off to log in, pop into the marina, get a number of an
electrical chap and ring. Being Friday afternoon Vince said he would pop in on
Monday, possibly. Then we went for sundowners aboard Freya, as soon as we got
back to Beez our friends we had first met in Rabat came aboard for a beer and a
catch up. Dave, Becky and children Jordan and India had sold Chili Oyster and
bought the very beautiful Seas the Moment. We went for supper on Saturday night
and fell in love with all the space a Voyage 500 catamaran offers, I had to make
it up to Beez that night. Ann and I had gone flight searching that morning
and a plan was coming together for getting to Peru in September. All in all a
better day for me than for Bear. Alan had been over with "tools" and decided it
was the alternator playing up. Thank heavens we hadn't paid for a new set of
batteries from Alberto, in the end his bit of the saga has now moved on a tad.
Bear tried to charge up again using the generator, and guess what, it was
defunct. Something else for Vince to look at. Sunday we went to Mojo's for lunch
of Nachos with cream cheese, chili and bits, plenty for Bear to get into a real
mess with. Ann booked the flights, yippee. Spent a long time in the Green
Harbour pub at happy hour on the internet catching up. Monday, put washing
in and began a real clear-out, watch out Bear.
After the Alberto
fiasco I was fed up Vince couldn't make it until Tuesday morning. After
rummaging, he took a carrier bag of "stuff" away with the poorly generator. Next
step is for us to ring at five and see what's next.
