Pangkor Harbour Master and
Customs
![]() We had the most torrential rain fall
for most of the night. This morning a very dull affair as we leave Beez next to her pal Tehani-Li, because
we are staying here so long we have to check in with the Harbour Master and
Customs. Ruz in the office had booked us a taxi at nine, we were one minute late
as James (marina director) wanted to formally welcome us back. We had to travel
to a local town for the Harbour Master, we were in and out in five minutes flat
and then on to another town ten minutes away for Customs, a very happily
decorated office that once again saw us cleared in five minutes. Next stop was
the bus station to buy our tickets for the 160 mile journey to Kuala Lumpur
Airport – we handed over the princely sum of ten pounds each for a posh looking
coach. We fly just after midnight on the 6th but the coach that would get us
there at 22:00 seemed like cutting it a bit too fine so we board at 14:30 to
arrive at 19:00, time for supper and a look round.
![]() ![]() Temples
seen from the back of our taxi. Final stop was at an ATM.
![]() ![]() Things to
explore at a later date and an intriguing cemetery complete with terracotta looking men along one
wall.
![]() Over the
bridge and back on reclaimed land that once belonged to the
king.
![]() Very smart
frontage to the huge area that has been built on. The sky continues to
look heavy with rain. Sadly, we saw a news item in the Harbour Master’s office
that showed thousands of flying foxes just falling dead from the trees in New
South Wales due to temperatures climbing to the forty mark.
![]() Back at the
marina an hour and a half later, we handed over ten pounds to our taxi
driver.
![]() Beyond our pontoon, the sky looks very threatening.
![]() Nothing for it but to have eggs for
lunch, Bear walked proudly in with his classic egg
event.
![]() Never done a
B+W before – rather funky methinks..................
ALL IN ALL A WHIRLWIND OF
CHORES
NICE TO GET A FEEL OF THE LOCAL
