Abraham's Bay, Overnight on Betsy Bay and on to Attwood Bay

This morning Charlie came over for Bear and they went to Nancy Dawson to pick up Randy. This is a Captains Only check in which gave the girls a couple of hours to do chores, bake, clean etc. Off went the Three Musketeers.

Mi Amante sitting prettily awaiting Charlie's' return

Bear returned saying that three skippers at once completely overwhelmed the system. He handed over the $300 cruising fees (in cash - no credit cards accepted), not a shock as we had budgeted for it and we got a years fishing permit free. Then it was up anchor, Beautiful Assistants fingering not required as I picked my way back over the course we came in on. Out to Betsy Bay for the night to take some fifteen miles off tomorrows leg to Attwood bay, a must on our list of places to stop in the Bahamas.

Betsy Bay Beach is collared by a reef - a quick snorkel to check the anchor, say 'Hi' to a couple of fish and watch a huge 'something' trot along the bottom

S/Y Samana settled next to us for the night

Watching the sun rise and disappear behind a cloud made it look more like sunset - pretty though

Out to sea some pilot whales about their business

SO HARD to believe we are out in the Atlantic Ocean, after some  the lively passages we have had up the island chains in the Caribbean Sea. The only noise today was from Beez Neez making tiny ripples on a sea flatter than some boating lakes we have been on. The first and only Rita 1 we have ever had. Rita, we think you would have really enjoyed today. The only other thing we saw was the occasion flying fish scarpering away.

Our entry in to Attwood Bay with a couple of local conch fishermen marking the turning point - fish GPS weigh point

We are forming a queue behind the others, the mushroom rock at the entrance to the reef

Anchored in the stunning Attwood Bay

ALL IN ALL WE FEEL WE ARE REALLY IN THE BAHAMAS
