Meanwhile on Ashby’s sick dock....... Batteries ordered and should be with us on Friday, fingers crossed. Meantime, Beez is going through more upgrades, tools out then, this time to the solar panel configuration. She is going to have two new  side panels, balanced, more power for the size and therefore new wiring needed through MTTP’s – which are clever electrical gadgets that increase solar input quite dramatically, fitted in the space above the desk in the electrickery cupboard. Scott-Free and Sheer Tenacity have both upgraded their systems too, the MTTP’s came from them. Thank you.
Meanwhile, I busied myself putting together two folders. The first is the planning folder from here to Sydney. We hope to leave here in May – sometime toward the end of the month, a week or so at sea to Fiji for six weeks exploring. Up to Futuna, over to Vanuatu and finally New Caledonia before setting off on the thousand and a bit miles to Sydney, time to take in the city before the New Year fireworks display. All very exciting but checking in information, currents, weather, usual amassed articles and photocopied pages from our Pilot Books all fitted in their plastic sleeves took me a full two days. The second folder contains information from leaving Cairns over to Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Burma, Sri Lanka, the Andaman Islands, Male, Maldives, Cochin,  – complete with the relevant 1000 Places to See all marked off on a rail map of India. Mauritius, Christmas Island, Chagos, Rodrigues, La Reunion and finally Richards Bay in South Africa. Weather, currents, typhoon seasons, wind patterns, logging in and a host of bits and pieces all sleeved. Very exciting/daunting/what it’s all about. I know........ I should have been catching up on blogs but I will get to it, soon.
