To Deep Pit, Really Deep Point
but I Prefer Deep Pit
  We left Elizabeth
City with a gray morning behind Old Shoe, brightening
later over Ptarmigan
     On the horizon was
an interesting building, Bear looked it up on the map and announced - It's a Blimp hanger you know, complete with Blimp just down the
road
  Back on the water
we watched a crabber at work
 Later our merry
little convoy passed through the Alligator River
Bridge
  A
significant mile marker. Time for cheese salad lunch
  A really red sky as we settled after a
pleasant thirty eight miles in Deep Pit, this time with no gouty knee'd Captain
and no biting flies - lovely
ALL IN ALL SO GOOD TO BE ON THE MOVE
