Kevin's 60th on the Beach,
Sakatia Island
 We all assembled on the beach at four for Kevin’s 60th birthday celebration.
 The children

 Celestine and her staff had prepared
side dishes, I found out that the ‘puffy’ things are
called pacpac, eaten collapsed and filled with salad.
 It’s a man thing. The boys cooked the meat we all took.
  It’s a yachty thing. Craig borrowed Glen’s glasses to write a text message.
Craig was contacting a friend who knows a birder – next chap on our list is to
see the bearded vulture (lammergeier, spelled several ways or ossifrage). A
couple of days later a chap called Japie emailed to say he was on the case. How
marvellous.

 ‘Birthday
Boy’ gave a short speech. Born in Croydon but many, many years resident
in South Africa as were all the others except us. How welcoming, friendly and
such brilliant company. Hope to see them ‘all down the road’ soon.
 Irma had made a delicious chocolate
brownie topped with Maltesers and melted ices cream. Kevin
had to blow out a nominal candle. Then, he had a special
surprise.........
 .....Celestine and her staff had
secretly made a cake.
