2015 Closes
2015 Comes to an End in
Sydney
This year
we have completed 3999.51 nautical miles, bringing our total on Beez
Neez to 25,266.52 and our grand total together to date to 28,496.22, each
and every one of them enjoyed and cherished. The most awesome experience and all my
dreams come true – simply, to see the world.
Sailing. We left Opua, Bay of Islands in New Zealand. Fiji we began in Savusavu and moved through Viani Bay, Buca Bay, Kioa Island, back to Buca Bay. On Rabi Island we stopped at Katherine Bay and Albert Cove. Matei on Taveuni Island. Mbulva, Ship’s Sound, Batuva Harbour. Fulanga Island. Momi Bay, Musket Cove, Likuliku, Blue Lagoon, Somosomo and Yalobi Bay. Leaving from Vuda Point Marina. Then on to Vanuatu - Anelghowhat Bay. Itchepthav Bay. Port Resolution and Dillon’s Bay. White Bay and Port Moselle in New Caledonia. Newcastle and Cammeray in Australia.
Health. Mmmm. We both fell on our swords as we settled at the Blue Lagoon, with a forced quarantine of two weeks to get over Fiji Flu. I picked up the baton with a tropical ulcer, nasty gall bladder and finished the year with scabies - most likely picked up in the village on Erromango [most of the children were seen sporting the spots], mine decided to stay dormant until just after I left hospital when the blisters began and I woke each night trying to scratch my hand off.
Games. I had a very, very good year. Grrroooowwwwlllll. Backgammon Bear won 171 but I kept ahead at the end to sneak a personal best of $770 dollars and 176 wins. Huh. Mexican train dominoes was not problem winning 122 to Bear’s 75. Sequence gave me a surprise 13 to Bear’s 3, that was always supposed to be my game, but you bought it for me in Guernsey......Arrgghhh. Rummikub Bear gained 62 wins but I managed 148 wins and $2435. The worst year since we left. I thought it was rather grand.
ALL IN ALL SO VERY ENJOYABLE DESPITE THE HEALTH ISSUES A YEAR OF MIXED FORTUNES BUT SO MUCH FUN |
