To Point
Anpasilava
![]() This morning a local boat came through
with sixteen aboard.
![]() Anchors up and the fleet were ready to
leave Moramba Bay at 08:30.
![]() Lovely to have Roy on Peggy West in the group.
![]() Peggy West at the corner with
Slow Flight in the lead.
![]() ![]() One final look at the coral formations and we were off.
![]() ![]() Not too much to
see along the coast but we had internet for half of the thirty-two point
eight mile journey. The wind picked up to a steady fourteen knots with gusts to
sixteen. At one stage Beez was cantering along at over seven knots. We had the
engine on to make water and other than leaning to port (my least favourite) we
enjoyed a great sail.
![]() Canace overtook us a few miles before the
anchorage.
![]() Bear turned us left to wind in the
genoa and I turned us to wind for him to drop the main. Then we headed toward
Bonnie and beyond to find six metres to
anchor not far from Serafina.
![]() Todays
journey.
![]() Our little
fleet.
![]() The Gang -
from left to right: Peggy West, Geronimo, Serafina, Canace, Slow Flight,
Alexandra, and to the right of the picture Bonnie. The anchor was
down at three-thirty and the plan is to leave at between two and three in the
morning for the sixty mile overnighter to Katsepe, our final stop before Baly
Bay in readiness for the “Go,Go,Go” from Des the weather guru (probably the 3rd
or 4th of November) – hopefully straight to Richards Bay in South Africa or to
Bazaruto in Mozambique if the weather dictates we run and hide.
