Chris Has Birthday Wahoo
After we attended Adrienne’s birthday party the other night, the locals had said it was time for them to get their backs into readying the copra before the next freighter arrived. Sadly, they explained, they had too much work to do and therefore no more socialising – that was until they found out today was Chris from Tribes birthday. Down tools and go fishing.
Bear and I picked up Karl (Windarra), Chris and Rourke (Tribe) this morning to go and snorkel over SMS Seeadler's wreckage, no sooner than we got back, than the radio chirped for us to go back to Tribe and see the wahoo Harry had caught. Of course I made the handsome beast pose in his hard hat.
We all took a dish to share at six o’clock. The wahoo was now served as BBQ steaks and as sashimi.
Harry and Chris, fun on the beach and us.
Birthday boy – Chris with Sascha (middle), Skyla and Rourke (either side of Sasha) and Layla (at the front). The whole Tribe.
Tribe with our three hosts.
Home-made fireworks and card time.
Becky, Sascha and Sky discuss the fireworks. Harry finds all his plastic cups, built in China – with a whole in the bottom of each one in the packet, and we dig into coconut cake.
Layla introduced us to her famous “cave”, not sure whether to be impressed or shocked.
Cake, candles and wishes.
After supper it was time for some serious hermit crab racing.
One had a particularly shoddy shell.
Most shocking was when one chap ran off, leaving his shell behind.........
Our hostess entertained us until her home brew made her declare it was time to go home.......
ALL IN ALL THE KINDEST HOSTS
A VERY MEMORABLE AND FUN EVENING
