Monday began with the boys rubbing Beez black line back to the bone and Jimmy spraying an undercoat on as he wasn’t pleased with the finish. Bear as always was smiling. I had a terrible day wasting much time on researching paint that would flex and bend, suitable for the acrylic ceilings and getting nowhere with an appointment at the Chinese Visa place in Kuala Lumpur.

After supper Bear salvaged my non-productive day by helping tension the new cover for the headboard and I went mad with the staple gun (highly recommended) – why use one staple when fifty nine proved satisfying. I went through one and a half refills of the stapler before all I needed was a cup of tea. Hurrah, a job done.

A pretty sunset, let’s hope the rest of the week pans out.

Back at the black line, the boys wet polish with cheerful smiles.

Keen to get on with a job and see a result, I went to work on removing all the discoloured sikaflex from around the en suite sink and replacing it with a line of shiny, green glass edging. We will have to wait until next week for Bear to put the new tap in as he hasn’t found a man to crimp his pipe (don’t ask I didn’t).

Bear’s office is looking less like a shock-horror and the bed looks more orderly.

Saturday night we attempted to go to the Festival of Light as we thought it was the final night but the heavens opened and the rain just kept falling.

We managed to get there tonight with Claudia (Gallivant) as Craig hit bed exhausted after his long week.
