The Macaws in The Botanical Gardens

The macaws in the Botanical Gardens looked really threadbare, after watching them in the wild in Peru, we did feel sorry for this small group of under occupied birds. However it didn't stop us spending ages looking at them and their comedic ways. The first one was a chewer - we could hear Beez teak groaning even at this distance.

This pair were hilarious, whatever one did the other interfered

Whilst one scratched his head, the other bit his toes

Stretch wings, the other bit his neck

Interfering with having a good preen was one thing, but sniffing his bits was a step too far

Off he went, dive bombing to the floor

Off he scuttled on his twine toes

To the next pen to be alone and hang out for a while

and preen alone

Then some flight training with that well known animal whisperer

Look cute

Smile for the camera

Then return to his nutty mate

ALL IN ALL ENJOYED WATCHING THE ANTICS
SAD TO SEE THEM WITH SUCH SHABBY FEATHERS
