Brenda Reaches the Big
Five-O
The day began sunny and warm but by
the time we reached the beach bar the wind had really begun to flex and it was
really chilly. The balloons didn’t make it through the evening but somehow the banner grit its teeth and hung on.
Yachties gather as yachties do and by
six o’clock there was bread, cheese platters, potato salad, rice and all manner of goodies from New Zealand, Germany, Bulgaria,
Switzerland, America, Canada, France and the Brits.
Maj had made one of her
delicious cakes.
Time to look at the sunset.
The Birthday
Girl.
The sisters – Brenda and Kaz.
Fun and
laughter before we went to eat.
We all cooked in pairs and Bear was
soon settling to eat mahi-mahi and a massive portion
of roe, I of course looked the other way. After mains it was cake time. We sang Happy Birthday and then a cold wind
really picked up. Most of us had to go home for jumpers before going to State of
Mind. At midnight we sang happy birthday to Rod. What a first, never before have
we sung to a husband and wife each side of midnight. The whole thing would be
repeated the following night – another first.

ALL IN ALL A FUN
