We Moved Digs in Hong Kong
Last night I bravely endured Bear sucking his way through a duck neck – aka a walking
stick in pieces. Very brave of me. Delicious. Mmmm.
This morning his final go at eating his
muesli and fruit from the toiletries box......we know
how to live it up.
We caught the bus to Gloucester Road.
Crossed the busy road with the aid of lifts
each side and bimbled past a festively decorated
fountain.
Lisa made light work of welcoming us to
the Grand Hyatt, our room was not quite ready as we were a bit too early to
check in, so within minutes we had left our luggage with this native of
Australia, headed upstairs to the top floor of the Tower and were soon enjoying a coffee.
Looking over toward Kowloon from the 31st floor of the Grand Hyatt Tower. We
watched in fascination as the firework barges came in
and positioned themselves, meanwhile, water traffic
carried on as usual.
Working girls
fussed until the correct position was achieved and more came
in.
Just a bit more of a
push.......there.
Meanwhile, we watched as the Conference Centre below us had a chap
in a hard hat out for a bimble.........
We decided on our own bimble for fresh air
and passed the Christmas tree on the 30th floor and
one of the many down in main reception.
Out and about we passed a lovely florist.
We headed for the
street market, passed Bear Tea and by the time
we got back to our digs, our room was ready and Beds was
soon settled (bath to his left).
Whilst Bear played with
the electric blinds, I explored.
The ‘bits’
drawer, stocked fridge drawer below and the
bath (open unless I want to shut the dividing blind).
The rest of the
bathroom and our luggage room.
View from sitting on
the bed, time to set cameras for tonight’s firework display against the window.
Now for a long bath, loved the tap, as Bear watched one of his current favs –
Going in Style. Then to the 31st floor for cocktails and treats to
begin the whole New Year’s Eve celebrations. No room facing Kowloon but an
attentive chap settled us in a lower conference room, no complaints from and a
view over the pool below.
Bear settled
with free-flow champagne, canapés, comte cheese, smoked salmon and any number of
other treats. We virtually had the space to
ourselves.
We took darling little
puddings in strawberry and chocolate back to our room for
later.
Loving the orchids everywhere we look.
Our own private laser
show. The TV takes our memory card – yay, we can enjoy our New Year
films. Enjoying our own company, just as we love it, until the midnight hour
when we will video and share with family and friends.
ALL IN ALL A LUXURIOUS
TREAT
REALLY, REALLY
LOVELY |
