Going Italian in
Tokyo
We got in cold and wet this afternoon
and settled in our room to do some major planning for our trip to Myanmar in
late November. Bear’s job was to find the best way from Lake Inle to the Allied
War Cemetery close to the River Kwai (on the Burmese side) and I had to research
Bagan and places not to miss. A marginally successful time when Bear announced
he fancied Italian for supper. OK, not what I expected in Tokyo but off we went.
Still raining, we were chuffed to see Bee Cargoworks
and their happy little mascot.
Just a short walk from our hotel and
Bear is opening the door for me to step into little
Italy.
Italian
prints on the wall and an authentic menu, save
for a few local additions.
What was new to us was when we
pressed the gadget on the table, our table number
popped into the box on the wall – waiter came
running, pad at the ready. What a really clever idea, we have had vibrating
plastic blobs telling us our table was ready, or our order was complete, but
never to control our whole meal, it worked really well, very impressive.
Handsome and his
carbonara.
