Aplomado Falcon in the Colca Canyon
We were admiring the sheer drop to the canyon floor and seeing the inedible relative of the pineapple
The mountain orchid and a bud of the national flower - the wakanki
We saw a Giant Hummingbird then.......
......... a teenage Aplomado Falcon, a slender, long-winged, long tail the size of a Peregrine Falcon
We watched him for ages hoping he would take off, when our guide clapped his hands and ................
Up he jumped
and off he soared
ALL IN ALL WHAT A TREAT THE SAME DAY AS SEEING THE CONDOR
