En Route to Deshaies -
pronounced Day-Hay
![]() ![]() ![]() As we settled for our last night in
Jolly Harbour I took this photo of Skippers right
hand. He trashed it whilst sorting out the forest below the girl. A
must is frog marching him to a stand at the boat show in September and buying
him a stout pair of gloves. We got into bed and I thought I had had a nights
sleep, leapt up to find it was half past midnight and the
bright full moon had woken me. Up again at five thirty to find it
brighter.
![]() ![]() ![]() Off we went and soon caught this
very muscular chap. Filleted and half for Bears
supper and the rest with mayonnaise the next day in a baguette. Our first look
at Deshaies from the sea. We had stopped briefly when
we had the hire car and knew it to be a small fishing village.
![]() ![]() ![]() Don't ask - I
didn't
![]() ![]() ![]() Skipper doing
more 'usual' looking chores. The anchorage was
quiet with about ten boats. Not that we are purists, just a discipline
Bear has always done - but we were the only boat to show an anchor ball and one
of the half that had an anchor light.
![]() ![]() ![]() Everywhere we seem to go we find an
eatery called "Hemingway's". Skipper sorting his flags
out. Couldn't he have told me. The third photo shows what happened to me
with the sun overhead all day. A triangle of red down the centre and when I
lifted my brasoomps, huge white areas. I would have
shown the whole photo but it would scare small children into thinking Halloween
had come round again.
![]() Settled for the
night but anxious to see if I can shake hands with The Saintes, we'll see
tomorrow.
ALL IN ALL PLEASED TO BE
LEAVING TOMORROW BUT REALLY ENJOYED THE SAIL
HERE.
