The Botanic Garden was in sight but a pair of bees caught our interest and we had to investigate.

Welcomed to look inside, we found a company with a huge interest in the production of honey.

The we went into the shop, a bee wishing us Merry Christmas.

We tasted all kinds of honey in the happily decorated shop. I haven’t had any of my favourite honey for so long, that when I sampled a tiny bit of the slightly sharp, slightly gritty, pale set – why not – but the lady with nary a glimmer of _expression_ across her face announced thirty pounds and for Bear’s bit of honey complete with comb another tenner, we bought a fridge magnet and headed for the door.

Outside, a chap asked if we would like to see some bees in  action, he pointed out the queen (centre bottom).

Out in the open the workers quickly covered the queen but she did peep out once.

I got to pose with the happy little bees – the proud bearer of my fridge magnet.

We crossed the road once more and I got Bear to pose by the Moon Gate before heading to the Botanic Garden.

ALL IN ALL A HAPPY LITTLE DIVERSION
