New Beach Bag Seats - South Fouquet

P7010002  P7010003

We took our new blow-up beds, a first, we bought them a couple of years ago at the Southampton Boat Show. Clearly designed to be inflated in breezier conditions, today, we had not a breath. Not to be bested, Bear spun on the spot looking like he was synchronised swimming with a manta ray. Not realising he had made himself giddy, I watched (and videoed) the resultant falling-dance. Once steady, he rolled the beast and closed the clip.

The first insertion went awry, the second – Bear was bucked off his steed.

P7010007

On the third attempt, right-side up, slightly more success.

P7010008  P7010010

I ran up and down the beach with my bright yellow steed and soon decided that bean bag size was my limit. Once settled I had another show. Bear took the cue that the beach run may work. Mmmm.

These two ghost chaps were delighted when their afternoon quiet time settled as their human guests stopped with all the bag kerfuffle. Now they took up the serious task of where to dig their burrows for the night.

P7010016

One quickly got down to business just beyond where Baby Beez was beached, the other looked on unconvinced.

P7010014  P7010018

P7010017

We watched as our small friend who dug efficiently, brought out sand in one fist and throw it on the ever-growing pile.

 P7010022  P7010025

Bear enjoyed a dip as I bimbled to the edge of the sand spit. Looking over to Pepe’s Island, the blues gorgeous.

P7010029  P7010030

I got a fancy to snorkel on the seaward side. Nothing but broken reef until I saw a slug........

P7010031  P7010035

...........then two, then whole regions.

P7010039  P7010057

A pair and then a very different pairing.

P7010056  P7010061  P7010058

Then lots of blue starfish.

P7010052

A blue-finned trevali sped by.

P7010036  P7010037

Further on, a little hard coral added some colour, then a clam.

P7010033  P7010034

A very shy chap.

P7010038

A very fat slug with knobbly bits.

P7010040  P7010041  P7010047

Now over sand with more coral and a few chaps.

P7010059

P7010043  P7010045

Three sandfish about their business.

P7010046

A small angelfish.

P7010048

P7010063  P7010055  P7010053

P7010054

P7010050

Lots of small fish.

P7010049

A fully open clam. By now the current was getting me nowhere and I was only half way to the outer reef. Time to turn back and enjoy the quick ride back.

P7010064  P7010065

Bear was getting out too, he had found a conch shell, wonder if we will see one with a dweller inside.

P7010066

Our guardian booby, Bear has now named him Bobby, sat with his friends.
