At seven this morning we were ready to roll with the sunrise. Monkey Bay quiet save for a local fisherman.

Ten minutes later we were off and the first two tour boats were in position.

The Sunsail charter yacht (the dot to the right of the first picture) is dwarfed by the corner – we could tuck in tight to have a closer look at the rock formations as the water is twenty five metres.

Rounding the corner and a close up of one of the caves.

The far end of the island and rock falls or a stack that wasn’t to be.

More caves and overhangs.

Stalactites a long way up.

We crossed the gap – a cute little hop of a mile or so.

The gap and the very sheer side of Koh Phi Phi Le.

Looks like a lumpy saddle.

Sunsail pokes their nose into Maya Bay and does a swift u-ee to anchor outside.

Tucked in on my chartplotter and Bear’s IPad (which shows the dive sites).

Quarter past eight and there are flocks of tourists here already. This is the beach where they filmed The Beach.

Piccadilly Circus with long tails, power boats, dive boats and ferries. We pick up a mooring ball and go for a snorkel.

ALL IN ALL A BAY NOT TO BE MISSED
                     BEAUTIFUL BUT TOURISTS ABOUND
