Panama Carnival and Fish
Market Bimble
After breakfast we took a taxi into
town and walked along the promenade enjoying the sun and the
water features.
We are still getting used to the wealth and tall buildings.
Soon we arrived at the water trucks, literally watering the
crowd.
The good natured folks enjoy the band and a good soaking.
All ages, shapes and
sizes enjoy the atmosphere.
A hot dog stand and bike. The guards gather for the afternoon
crowds.
Slush Puppy, the old-fashioned way
and a lady dressed in bee colours.
We leave the carnival to go in search
of lunch in the famous fish market. The gates are very
appropriate, inside we find the place is huge.
Every sort of fish, fresh that morning.
A roit proppaa Billingsgate me ol’ matey.
We go in search of lunch and see the size of the market from the upper level. There is much
more outside.
We find the famed upstairs seafood
restaurant, menus as placemats. Bear had fried whole fish, very crispy and I was brave and
had fillet and chips.
To get back behind the security fence,
to rejoin the carnival, the ladies had one gate for frisking, the boys another.
After a long day it’s time to enjoy
our tiny roof-top pool and no
guesses...........
ALL IN ALL A COLOURFUL
DAY |
