A warm welcome awaited us this morning when we pulled up the drive, in the pouring rain, we were soon settled in the kitchen with Geoff and Sabby, a good cuppa in hand. Instantly I was drawn to side window - the simple pleasure of watching the birds at the feeder - having stared for so long at birds of prey, pelicans, frigates and all manor of ‘foreign birds’, to watch our English chaps was mesmerising.

From the window at the back, robins, sparrows, tits, chaffinches even a squirrel.

After the rain stopped we went for a smashing walk on Bodmin Moor. When we got back we took a turn around the garden. The handsome cockerel pulled himself up to his full height, puffed himself up and shouted about it.

I go to the gate to capture this house that exudes family love. The luckiest grandbabies in the world come here to visit.

Time to meet Shelly / Bob.

Quote from Sabby, “The tortoise came to us called Shelly but I call it Bob because his head bobs in and out and it winds Geoff up.” We giggled and watched her / him tuck into his afternoon treat.
