After our market bimble, we gave in and went to Yichang Airport. Better to sit and chat together over a cup of tea than feel we were wasting life for three hours. Within minutes of checking in we found two other couples from the cruise on Century Sun. We all had the same story. No one wanted a massage, offered a big stodgy meal, walk from the pagoda to the bridge and told there was nothing nearby. The annoying thing was when we got back to Beez and actually checked ‘What to do in the city of Yichang’ we found a cave nearby and most interesting  the Sturgeon Museum............growling.

We all sat and had a good laugh downstairs until it was time to head up to departures. We had all been told that there was nothing in the Departure Lounge, once there we found lots of little shops and it was quite a nice area.

Half an hour sitting on the plane – a full flight with lots of other disgruntled ex-mini-cruise folk.....

It was gone eleven o’clock before we landed and then we had to wait for over half an hour for our cases to appear. The only pleasure was seeing this bear sitting in the middle of the carousel.

Well past midnight before we settled in our digs. The chap on the front desk upgraded us to the executive floor (24th) one below the restaurant on the top floor. Sadly, most rooms were once for smokers and most of our rooms have had quite a stale and bitter smell. Beds didn’t care as he was shattered.

I went to explore the bathroom, bath a bit short but OH he will be pleased. I went back into the bedroom for Bear telling him to shut his eyes. I led him past the sink and then.......he opened his eyes and was delighted to see a Japanese toilet seat. Like an old friend. It wasn’t heated but there you are. Time for bed..
