Sampson Cay, Exuma Islands,
Bahamas
![]() We left Staniel Cay just after eleven
for the short six and a half mile hop to Sampson Cay. We were soon passing the anchorage off Great Major's Cay
![]() ![]() We tucked ourselves
right up in the corner, opposite Sampson Cay Marina
![]() ![]() WOW
![]() ![]() Beez soon settled, we went off to explore. The marina
itself is through a small gap away to our right, providing
very good shelter
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We went back
through to 'our' side and parked Baby Beez next to
the visiting Police launch, a laughing gull doing just that
![]() ![]() ![]() Right next to the fuel jetty were many of my new found
friends
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Seeing pizzas were '2 4 1' we ate lunch. Bear cool in
shades (he forgot his specs and had to put his shades on to
see his meal). My pizza looked like cheese on toast compared to Bears
fish delight. He had huge chunks of lobster. The
pictures cannot show these were actually twelve inches across, we soon stumbled
and asked for the rest to go in a box for later. We had a beer each, a bottle of
Pinot Grigio was $48 - I suppose we are a long way from Italy,
still..............
![]() Back out into the heat of the day, we marveled
at the view. I had always thought we would see paradise when we got to
somewhere in French Polynesia, Fiji or maybe Tonga, but this, this must come
somewhere near to it. A while later off we went in search of the pigs - own
blog, and a snorkel from the beach next door. Later, back on board, shower,
supper and games. Just before sunset we saw a rainbow over the marina

HEAVENLY
