Family Crabbing in Padstow
We all left Newquay and were soon
settled for some traditional crabbing.
Cunning
crustaceans would allow themselves to be pulled up a little way – then
simply let go.
Serious work,
concentration and patience.
After two hours we only had one crab in our bucket. Rachel had scoped out the other
side of the harbour “there are loads of buckets with lots of crabs. We all moved en masse.
We changed to weighted nets on strings
and a thrilled Kaiser caught his first crab, sheer delight.
Still a serious business, Miff and Andrew having a great time.
Glee from Seth and happiness from Bear.
Vicks and
Rachel look after Emmie and Edward.
Everyone caught and soon our buckets
filled.
Rachel and
Kaiser made a good team.
Jack took
advice from Miff.
Classic Cornish Padstow.
Our view
(to our right) and the ramp we would release our prize.
Harry, Kaiser,
Faye and Jack led the release party.
Our total of thirty six chaps scuttle back to the sea.
William
lets us know it’s ice cream time before we all moved to Porth
Beach.
ALL IN ALL
FANTASTIC
GREAT FUN AND THE NETS WERE A WONDERFUL NEW
