We backed out of our berth at Puteri Marina at a quarter past eleven. Bear had been to top up the phone and pay our bill. I had put our washing in the two machines but as the dryers were poorly the intention is to hang it out when we get to Country Garden five miles up river. We are after a change of scenery and to see if Hans and Burney (Brahminy Too) need a hand as they have a poorly gearbox.

Out past the edge of the new city.

We turned left to go upriver as Gostoza Tu turned right to head toward the anchorage thirty five miles away – a journey we will make next week.

Our view, very overcast but no rain.........yet.

On the left a village on stilts.

To our right – no surprise – a police boat checking we do not stray into Singaporean waters.

A pair of big birds made a change manoeuvring over the Singapore Firing Range.

A rather smart floating house with outdoor eating.

On our left we passed a massive clam farm.

Sand stockpiles. Not sure if this is for reclamation or simply to supply the building sites.

Oh my. A bigger building project than the one we have just left. The marina just visible bottom left.

We had left the red can at the bottom and come all of five and a tiny bit miles.

Boats in the marina look diddy against the fifty odd storey block being built beyond.

With just sixteen berths and half of them vacant we chose one, later to be asked to move opposite. We can use the showers in the complex, electricity and water included, use of the pool – all for sixty eight pounds for the week, can’t be bad.

The girl and our view, so very dark.

We said ‘hello’ to Hans who was busy and went to find Burney who was sitting in the cold (air con to freezing) doing some blogging. No sooner than we had chatted for a while than the heavens opened – hatches and covers open – we ran............. The pool will have to wait until tomorrow.

ALL IN ALL A SHORT HOP TO MAKE A CHANGE
