Beez Neez Moves Undercover
![]() ![]() So, I was sitting on the bed sending
a couple of blogs at nine o’clock, Beez was to be moved at ten. You better come out it’s all going on out here.
Oh, downed my cup of tea, grabbed the camera and emerged to find Beh bent to the job of bringing in the
lift and Shah undoing props and marking their positions.
![]() Have tea and
bucket, what else in life is needed.
![]() Half
past nine and Beez Neez was on the move.
![]() Reversing toward
the shed – her home for the next fourteen months.
![]() ![]() Beez comes to a
halt next to the shed, now to wait for the crane. Time for Bear and Shah to talk mast tactics.
![]() ![]() A motor boat stand was in my chosen
space, so immediately White, Izzy and the two Bear’s (Bear and Beh) simply pushed it out of the way. Then the
girl’s new spot was washed clean by Izzy.
![]() ![]() At exactly ten o’clock in rolls Win
Joo with his trusty crane. Out
pops his feet.
![]() ![]() ![]() The team is
joined by Sig (Sorceress) as Shah shimmies up the
mast. Win’s hook and sling securely in
place.
![]() Meanwhile, Izzy has been rushing to and fro with our props.
![]() ![]() Win gives a
salute as he is given the all clear and soon Beez
mast swings up and over.
![]() ![]() ![]() Bear in
charge of guiding, Win in action and I simply
have to show his ‘happy coloured’
controls.
![]() Everyone came in to help
gently lay the mast on the trolley.
![]() ![]() I took loads of pictures of ‘mast
things’ for later reference and when I reached the top I saw something odd. When I pulled it out......it was a potato wedge a bird had obviously tucked away for
later.......
![]() Izzy at the
rear pushing, as the mast is wheeled to the back of the
shed.
![]() Just look at that lovely clean floor.
![]() The team, now nine-strong, as Mr
Varnish (who happened to be passing) and Brett (Bella Vita) join. The mast is lifted on to waiting
barrels. Well I never
expected to have to be part of that particular team as an unskilled labourer,
but, all went well.
![]() At ten past eleven
Beez slowly backs into the shed.
![]() ![]() The boys carefully watching our wind
generator for clearance (inches to spare).
![]() Safely in
place.
![]() Up go the
props.
![]() ![]() The yard
cat comes to say ‘hello’. She looks so much like my only cat (when I was
five), also a girl but I called Timmy. I picked her up and the instant settle
and purr – I was a done deal and scurried up the ladder for half a tin of tuna
mixed with the crunchy bits of Bear’s muesli (all I could think of at the time).
She gently inspected and head down to enjoy – not
rush – her treat. Stacey (Bella Vita) gave her a little milk, one happy
pusscat.
![]() Beez chats to her
new friends. We took the decision to move her now rather than in a few
months time for the tarps to come off, for easier access for the workmen –
especially Jimmy to do the repaint prep work and for us to be cooler.......out
in the blazing sun with no water to keep the keel cool, we were roasting – Beez
hull hot to the touch. Outdoor temperature thirty eight degrees, indoor who
knows but well into the forties.
![]() ![]() I leave Izzy
welding the bars in place to secure the props at half past two to get on
with some chores, he welded until nearly four and then Beh came to move the
lift. Whatever this team lacked in professional apprenticeships or
qualifications was more than made up for in enthusiasm, patience, willingness,
attention to detail and a fun-can-do attitude. Thank you so very much
boys.
ALL IN ALL A WONDERFUL TEAM
REALLY COOL BUT CARRYING MAST
