   Bear took it upon himself to spuddle
over to the resort and book us in for the lovo and
meke tonight. Mmm, better shower and dress up then. We had just parked Baby Beez
on the beach when we met Paws Time, they stayed at six feet away from the
‘diseased ones’, funny how word has gone round the anchorage. Steve and Chris
walked down from Happy Hour and Steve was brave enough to step up for a hug, my
first contact with anyone in eight days. We think we will stay the full two
weeks then re-enter the world. We had a drink at the resort bar and were given a
table on the edge, wonderful, word has got here too. We were very impressed by
the spread, Bear tucked in to raw fish starter, I had sweetcorn, beetroot and
salad. Mains was pork, lamb, chicken, coral cod, vegetable curry, sweet potato,
ordinary potato, mixed root vegetables, cassava, taro and an amazing rice dish. One happy and ‘getting better Bear’. For afters there was banana custard
and then the meke was put on by the entertainment group from the island
opposite. This big group played their own instruments, sang beautifully and
danced.
