Up bright and breezy this morning.
The radio chirped and Kimi brought departure forward an hour. Anchor up at nine
and soon we were passing the lovely village by the Honey
River.
Serafina looking very smart en route to our next
anchorage.
We passed Nosy
Kalakajoro..........
...........where the
Scandinavians (the group to our right) decided to spend the
night.
We had chosen to go ten miles further
to Nosy Antanimora. Kimi radioed to say they had caught a
wahoo and a tuna on a shiny little fish. Tomorrow I will swap our red and white
squid lure for a squidgy green fish and see if it changes our dry
run.
We anchored just after three o’clock,
a twenty-eight mile run, on the far side of the island to have the wind blowing
toward us and enjoyed an afternoon of games, a pretty sunset (left and right views) and supper at seven. Well,
what a commotion, at first I thought a massive moth had been attracted by our
cockpit light but it began to literally ‘squawk’. Not a moth but a
cicada........and another one who made just as much noise.
This chap settled
on the roll of rope, offended to have been slung out by Bear who quickly
shut the back door of the conservatory whilst I shut the front window. Not the
best picture as it was taken through the plastic.
All through supper we heard wings
flapping and the odd chirp as the number grew to four. One
looking through each of the back panels (the one in the middle is the
easiest to spot) and the one on the rope who snuck back in under my side
edge........... Bear pulled out our netting door, switched off the conservatory
light and dashed in putting the net in behind him as I really didn’t want
visitors once the television glow became attractive. What a kerfuffle, they are
supposed to go to sleep in trees and not act like moths.........
ALL IN ALL A GENTLE DAY WITH
A CHAOTIC END
