Fort George

After a bimble around the museum we started a slow walk up the incredibly steep hill toward Fort George.

No sooner than we had got going and assessing the steep climb behind Bear, than the heavens opened, we took shelter and waited, then off again.

The view from the top was amazing, Bear with the marina over his left shoulder and the container ship dock (opposite Beez Neez) over his right. The Grenada Police training School. Bear showing the arrow - shows which way the pointy bit goes.

The sign. Bear off in search of the plaque. A little alarming to see bullet holes above number 36's door.

A four pound gun, registration number and a pretty little green chap taking a nap on a canon

Supplies Department is open Monday to Friday 08:00 to 13:00, funny watching a policeman coming out with his newly acquired megaphone. Bear thought he had found me the rare Grenada Dove - No

View from the top

View looking down to the newly made beach at the entrance to Port Louis. Evidence left by the firing squad. Bear still pointing with the anchorage behind him

The memorial plaque

Time to go down and explore the town.

ALL IN ALL FASCINATING THAT A TOURIST SPOT IS A WORKING PLACE YOU CAN WANDER AROUND.
