Day 6 and 7 - Little
Hoople
I clearly wanted a rematch at Hoople
but it was another anglers last day here and he by rights got the peg, we
returned to Little Hoople. Bear caught two fifteen pounders and a thirteen and
three quarters. leaving the Tally at Big Bear 14 - Me
11. Not only am I behind in numbers, I'm also behind in heaviest. The only
interest I had today was from a goose who quickly
tired of my float and started to bathe before flying off. My excuse - I was not
in the zone and my head was settled on a rematch back at Hoople. Tomorrow is
another day - Hooks sharp at dawn...........
Today is Bank Holiday Monday, many
families cat fishing along from us soon disappeared
when three raindrops fell. I had been none too impressed as they roughly put
their catch on what looked like a huge safety pin and hoyed them in a bucket of
water. Supper. We were less impressed at the rubbish they left behind,
empty cans bobbing in the water and wrappers all around were they
sat.
Still the
wildlife keeps me happy
Day seven saw us back at Hoople,
first touch for me was at 6:20, first landed at half past seven, a nice chap
weighing in at sixteen pounds. Bear got a twenty pounder at ten to nine, a near
to seventeen pounds at nine twenty and a whopping twenty seven pound beauty just
before lunch. Every fish has to be closely verified by photographing the scales.
Bear's total of three was matched his tripping over when the landing net broke
(soon repaired), nearly falling in and his catapult broke - sweet corn shot
all over himself AND me. I told him it was like sitting next to a six year old
and if he faffed with his line causing his alarm to keep tweeting I would have
to perform bodily damage on him.............................
The sky
threatened us, only a few spots of rain fell but it did make
for an interesting cloud pattern
Despite having fidget boy to my right I
managed to catch nine, weights ranging from fourteen to two at twenty six
pounds. So at day end the Tally is now Bear seventeen - Me twenty, he still has
the weight though
ALL IN ALL TOMORROW ANOTHER
DAY TO BATTLE
