To
Taravai
We
pulled out of the anchorage and followed another departee.
We passed some pearl farm buoys and made our way through the
shallow part of the marked channel into the fairway.
We motored past Mangareva, oh look, I remember the short jaunt past the
French Meteo – looks tiny from here. We wiggled over
the coral heads and anchored next to Ilot Motu-o-Ari,
the tiny island near Taravai. We found a sandy spot in fifty feet of water and
settled for lunch. Time for a spuddle.
It really was time to take the RNLI flag down and retire it. The
OCC flag was repaired as was the blue Ensign, both so much shorter than
when they were sold to us.
The fading
afternoon sun lit the islands.
The Beez
looked pretty good too.
The way out to sea
unbelievably calm.
Sunset.
