Ferry to La Ceiba and on to
Casa Cangrejal, Honduras
Mike gave us a lift to Coxen Hole to
‘not’ take the girl on the left, but the
fast ferry over to mainland Honduras.
We were soon on our way, on time, at
two o’clock, passing some who had sadly come a
cropper
Up through the gears, passing one of
the beaches the cruise ship guests use and settling to twenty six knots for the hour and a half
journey to La Ceiba
Our first look at Honduras was one of high mountains and wispy
clouds
We entered
harbour, saw many ladies and after a nifty 180
turn safely docked, all very
efficient
Karen our hostess had arranged a taxi
to meet us. Pizza Hut made everything seem quite
normal. Ten minutes main road and then off piste
Our driver expertly manoeuvred the
pot holes and around lake sized
puddles
Lush and
green, then very steep
Up in to the
National Park and a massive welcome from Karen at
Casa Cangrejal
Our spacious
bedroom, all natural and built by Karen, Alex and a small troop of
workers six years ago
A babbling
brook outside, a villa next door and a short
trot to the patio for beer o’clock
Later we walked the five minutes
another guest - Jim to Omega’s, a Bavarian themed
restaurant for a tasty meal
There is a small
pool for guests, some interesting wood
decorations and this visitor is a common
sight
ALL IN ALL A HEAVENLY
