BEDS
![]() ![]() ![]() Beds has
taken to his bed, ( trying out Uncle Pete's Fez ), feeling a little sorry for
himself after his antics at Riad Sara. Bear offering
support, who, after eating sweet pigeon pie has left me needing a gas-mask, no further details
necessary.
![]() ![]() ![]() You can tell a posh fez, it comes with a paper collar, woven inside, tassel sewn down and
the photos mean we have completed our 'task' by its purchase. "A fez from Fez
and filling it with saffron" . Couldn't afford just Saffron, so a bit of a mix,
but none the less full. We will post it from Lanzarote as everything from here
is viewed as suspicious.
We have had the question as to what
is the most useful 'thing on board' ?
BEAR SAYS HIS
SHOOSH
![]() ![]() ![]() With demonstration. Tie loop about
18" from one end. Place on head, knot at the back of the head and twist front a
couple of times.
![]() ![]() ![]() Turn a couple of times round head,
end tucked in. Pull at knot end, this can be then used as a guard against wind,
sand, dust, for warmth or protection against chapped lips.
![]() ![]() End tucked for permanent protection or
full cover to sleep in, use in foul conditions as you can see through
it.
I say my "Pashmina". Several years
ago my mother-in-law bought me my cashmere pashmina. I wanted a posh one at the
time to wear with an evening dress at "a bit of a do". Little did I know what a
useful bit of kit it would prove itself to be.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It has now served as a shawl, a face
mask for Bear when he borrowed it, scarf, pillow case ( if I don't like the look
of what's there ), thin blanket ( ditto ), plaid over the shoulder to excite a
drab frock, a sling, a burkah, a belt, a curtain on a train, a sunshade, a water
carrier and an all round comforter.
Aboard.
My only crew necessary,
first-mate and dream catcher. "What's he after, that forces me to say ditto
about my skipper".
Physical Item.
A.I.S and Sea-Me. AIS lets you
see what large craft are out there, their ships contact number, position,
course and speed. This gives all the information to call them up
if need be. Sea-Me gives a stronger radar signal back to other
boats. We have seen it work when a big container ship had us on his screen, as
soon as he passed he turned 90 degrees in front of us. For pleasure - Avtex DVD
player.
Me. GPS and Radar, would not go to
sea without either of them. Pleasure, laptop and camera as they allows me to
produce the blogs, log photos, play music, skype phone calls and a million
things.
He also says he's very partial to
his Manson anchor.
All in all a happy little blog to
produce, keep the questions coming in, I did this one raining outside,
whilst watching Venus with Peter O'Toole.
