Maya Bay Snorkel
We left Beez to snorkel under the
overhang to our right, to the tiny private beach and in the back corner of the
bay. The other half we left for the afternoon. No sooner than we reached the
overhang than a fish ball met us, lovely to watch the
group swooping like a flock of birds.
Something looked
menacingly, our little friends scattered
and Alex watched it all.
Oh, how lovely, Mr
Fish (blue powder surgeon tang – hence Mr Fish, just like the chap we had
in our marine tank) there to lead the way to other
chaps.
Our first Thai
starfish.
Clams in
all shapes, colours and sizes.
I was so busy enjoying a parrot fish having attendance of a cleaner wrasse – then I saw the last few inches of an eel as it disappeared under a rock – not realising I had
him in the top left of my final sequence......
Next, the turn of a trunkfish, his cleaner got stuck literally into his
armpit.....
Plenty of
chaps to keep us busy.
We popped up on the beach and admired
the stone art.
Grumpy
Drawers led us back to Beez, as we neared the crowds
became apparent.
Beez was squealing in delight as her whole length was being feasted upon. Bear scraped a
little and bigger fish came in for lunch..
ALL IN ALL AN EXCELLENT
SNORKEL
AMAZINGLY TAME
