To the Beautiful Langkawi
Islands
We had a later start this morning
leaving at ten past eight – just shy of thirty nine miles today. I stare at
the chartplotter showing todays route whilst listening to a good book, maybe I’m going for aversion
therapy by dilution.......Bit heavy and early for that
sort of malarkey isn’t it ??? Has to be done, this is part of my
life as navigator and Log Book keeper. Oh, fingers
crossed then. Anyhoo, Bear opted for the first half of the journey
so that meant I got the second.
A sight for sore eyes, the genoa (front jobby), long
hidden, flying and adding a couple of knots to our engine speed.
Fishermen
dotted the scenery and a random, tiny island.
The islands of
Langkawi on the horizon.
My shift and I
head for the gap second from the left, always funny to head toward a
brick wall.
Nearer, the gap
appears.
Gateposts, left and
right.
Stunning
scenery, the next gap on the right. The water has an average in the outer
islands of about twelve metres below us, nearing the next group about eight
metres. No worries at all as I follow a course in on Bear’s IPad.
Smashing.
At the corner we see two boats at anchor, here not a shred of internet,
telephone signal, could be anywhere in isolation. Time to head to our little anchorage beyond.
Anchored at ten to three, our view to the right.
Our view to the
left.
As the tide dropped, our little beach as the cicadas sung and the osprey soared,
perfection.
Just behind Beez the rocks. How well did I do then ???? Previous position on
the 15th of February 2017 – 6 degrees 11 minutes 40 seconds North, 99 degrees 47
minutes 31 East. Today 6 degrees 11 minutes 41 seconds
North, 99 degrees 47 minutes 31 East. Oooooo point nought one out on the
Latitude. Yes, but once we swing pretty damn
good...... Why, thank you Skipper.
Games, supper, Oooo shower, relief in many ways and shake down journeys
ticked, only snag the autopilot.......
ALL IN ALL BACK TO HOW IT
SHOULD BE, LET’S TOAST
GREAT TO SEE A SAIL UP, BEAUTIFUL SUNNY DAY,
