A Windy Stop at Shag
Point
![]() We left the Moeraki boulders behind
and soon the road was running parallel to the rugged
coastline.
![]() We saw the sign
for Shag Point – nothing for it but to investigate.
![]() We passed a few holiday homes and
‘interesting’ residences, soon the tarmac became gravel and we stopped at the end.
![]() We walked along the cliff path, the wind was biting.
![]() ![]() Interesting
limestone and one lone, handsome
chap.
![]() ![]() We watched the
waves crash for a few minutes.
![]() Walked a little further and read the sign.
![]() Grey skies
and spitting with rain, the yellow-eyes must all be out fishing.
![]() ![]() The views further
south.
![]() Back to Mable with numb faces. The plan to drive back to the main
road slowly.
![]() Several
shags.
![]() Several fur
seals.
![]() ![]() Some high
up away from the sea, one all
alone.
![]() He saw us looking and posed nicely.
![]() ![]() We drove back the way we
came..............
![]() .........and stopped to admire this beauty, complete with stained glass
windows.
![]() ‘One careful
owner’ in the garden of said beauty, what a view. Then back on the main
road and southbound.
ALL IN ALL SO VERY
RUGGED
VERY EXPOSED, VERY
NATURAL |
