Thamel Shopping Bimble – Part
One
 We found one of the now quite rare tuk-tuks left in Kathmandu en route to the
Garden of Dreams.
  After a couple of hours in the quiet haven of the gardens we felt ready to hit the Thamel
shopping area. Noise, people and hard-bargaining for bargains, traffic gridlock
(two taxis refusing to give way to each other by a parked taxi, until a
policeman came....), hawkers, hard workers, aroma of popcorn and coffee,
trekking suppliers, a supermarket......, mad electrickery, jaunty workbenches
and so much more all decorated with happy-coloured Buddhist prayer flag
bunting.
