To Pulau
Rubiah
![]() ![]() ![]() The last couple of days have been
spent largely chillin’, catching up with blogs, a perfect set of boiled eggs, no events and Bear adjusted the alternator belt. I did have to fight with
internet fraud – how dare I try to pay our credit card bill – bless our bank and
their vociferous security. This morning Bear nipped ashore to check on the
diesel situation, bought a pawpaw, some bananas and me a little present of a
small watermelon. After a lunch I broke the dry couple of days I have suffered
with not only a backgammon win but a sequence win as well. Growling.
![]() The scene
ashore (in front of us), today is Friday so many prayers and Call to
Prayer.
![]() At ten to two we left our mooring buoy
for the just shy of five mile trip across to Pulau Rubiah. As we passed Sabang
Quay we saw that 538 had left leaving Silver Seas 2
all on her own.
![]() Rubiah
holds the promise of some decent snorkelling.
![]() Behind us, Sabang, the lighthouse just visible – the little white
stick toward the left.
![]() ![]() Tucked behind
Rubiah, to our right the island we just left
behind.........
![]() ![]() Our track
across. Thanks to Google Maps it becomes obvious that Pulau Weh is horseshoe-shaped.
![]() ![]() Buildings to our
right.
![]() Many local
boats at the end of the anchorage.
![]() We chose a spot with the tourist
snorkel area (beyond the buoyed line), with the village to
our left.
ALL IN ALL CUTE PLUS THE
PROMISE OF SNORKELLING
A TINY HOP
