Ballena Bay Our views, left
and right
Ballena Bay is known as a green sand cove
at the base Cerro Ballena on the west coast of the island of Santa Cruz. The
beach contains a large amount of olivine crystals, originating from volcanic
materials. Glass is formed when the magma was still underground. Near the beach traces of pottery have
been found, reflecting the ancient human settlements close to the beach.
Ronaldo was keen
for us to see wild tortoises, we found their natural garden
sheds and found big fresh
evidence.
We passed by a little chap having a dust bath.
At the top we saw
other islands.
Goats, very shy of humans, well they do tend to get
shot.
Lush green all around.
This curious
pair..........................
..................jumped up and broke the two meter
rule.
A chap collecting, another watching.
Ronaldo leads the way back to the
beach.
Bear went to snorkel with the
rest.
He said the water was cold and he
didn’t see much.
I wanted the perfect Sally picture, but
this one had been in a fight.
I found one who was happy to pose for a
close up.
I had plenty to choose
from.
Handsome boy.
This one ticked the boxes.
I waited for ages for this chap to snort salt
but only succeeded in getting him yawning.
ALL IN ALL ANOTHER GREAT
DAY
