Our Crab Cay
Spuddle
We were moving on today but there are white caps on
the water just outside the anchorage. The squalls are constant and whilst only
about twenty knots, will make it a bit dodgy to pick our way through the reef,
seas outside are forecast to be lumpy, so we will go tomorrow. Off we went in
Baby Beez to explore this huge area. Just around the rocks behind Beez is another vast area with nothing but the occasional blade of
grass. Enough it seems for the many little turtles we've seen shooting past.
We went past many huge starfish, some
slightly fatter than others and mostly really dark red like
these chaps
Then I spotted this
humungous lad
Bear hopped off
Baby Beez in the warm shallows for a photo opportunity
In
many ways his bottom was more impressive than his top side
Bear put him back
and he immediately surfaced. Confused we watched
We sat for a few minutes until we saw
him expel a load of bubbles, watched him sink onto two
'back' legs and slowly curl until flat. We went back to him a while later
and all was well
A nice tradition on one of the tiny
beaches here, is marking and leaving a conch shell -
had we have known........ I had a tiny chap
The edge of our tiny beach was one of the drying reef entrances (not for Beez Neez). We
snorkeled there, the water was so cold and the current amazing
ALL IN ALL A LOVELY
DAY
AMAZING TO HOLD SUCH A KNOBBLY, STIFF CHAP AND SO
BIG...
I MAKE ABSOLUTELY NO COMMENT AT THIS POINT - BUT
MY EYEBROWS ARE RAISED
.
