A First for Edward

Yesterday was a very productive day. Adam and Alex arrived at our storage facility (used for ten years and over time has been moved three times within the hanger, each time smaller and cheaper). We moved everything, much to the sadness of the owner, to ‘new digs’ sharing with Adam. An air conditioned, ex-office with twenty four hour, all week access. Bargain. That done we went back to Adam and Jen’s for a DNA Supper. The four of us had sent our tests a few weeks ago to Ancestry. Slightly tongue in cheek – actually spot-on accurate. Adam with a big percentage of Scottish from his Glaswegian mum and Black Country from his dad. Jen with Viking and dots in North Scotland. Me the Cockney Sparrow mixed with Hampshire and 9% Irish from a three times great-grandfather and Bear well rooted in the Black Country, his even showed a family emigrating to the USA and one to Australia.
Today, we picked Small Person up and ran around with Bear, many stops to pick up bits for Beez and as we were over at Mount Batten, we had a pub lunch. Then it was to town to buy Bear new knickers, that done he needed a new wallet. Off we went to Dingles and Edward was transfixed as we took his pushchair up backwards on the escalator. A quick happy change ducked down behind Bear choosing his new black leather, in the sale, bargain purse. Now trotting on reins Edward was amazed when we went down on the moving stairs and people ‘popped’ up on our repeat journey. Counting one, two, three to time getting our feet in the middle of the lines and counting again to step off. Oh, such simple joy.

We did it again then waited and watched, still in wrapt fascination – ooo that’s an old word.
