Immigration Ladies and Loud
Shirts
 Todays talk was given
by two ladies from Border Control who gave us the necessary forms to clear out
of Australia on Thursday Island – thoughtfully
positioned between Wednesday and Friday Islands. We all have to park off Horn
Island and dinghy to the ferry dock to be taken over to T.I. and bus to check
out. Forms distributed and a Q&A session was followed by The Loud Shirt
Competition.
 The
entrants had to stand at the front and we had to clap loudest for our
favourite. Matthew (Rock & Roll Star), Gary (Wirraway of
Sydney), Burnice and Hans (Brahminy Too), Michael (the clear
favourite from Wishful Thinking), Val (in last years rally shirt from
Kereru), Kim (Take Two), Bruce (Matilda), Bob
(Continuum), Bear and Simon (Nicha).
  Bear took
his modest applause, clearly his Trinidad shirt wasn’t up to standard. Kim made no secret of her favourite, Bruce.
 Michael was
unabashed with success.
  As John stepped
in to award first to Michael and second to Simon the clash of colours had
the rest of us reaching for our shades. Simon was chuffed with his prize and
Lyn’s red vest added to the colour. That done, it was back to boats for more
chores.
