 We set off in Baby Beez and
ended up going all the way round Gili Air. Using my viewing bucket we stopped a
couple of times only to see dead coral, few fish and tiny crops of new growth.
We tried inside the southern end of the islands reef but the water was just
tough rough. Anchoring at the edge of a grassy hump we plunged in and found a
few huge bommies to scuff about. This huge brain coral
does show that the water is clear, warm and healthy. We enjoy snorkelling
far too much to not ‘give it a good go’ and seeing a cowfish more than made up
for the searching along with a single Nemo and it’s always fun not knowing what
we might see...........and there is always a chance of seeing a
turtle.
