We left the bustle of Arequipa  and within a couple of hours the scenery changed to that could have easily been the moon. We stopped to take pictures of Vicuñas 'grazing on the lush vegetation'

The landscape then changed to a kind of wetlands, complete with coot, Andean ducks and Flamingos - blown here and decided to stay at 14,000 feet and not a shrimp in sight

A 'faithful ol' friend' and his charges

Rising above the Colca Canyon another photo opportunity

Entering Yanque, we saw a statue to the mighty condor, cannot wait until tomorrow. Lunch stop and I cannot wait to suffer from 'you know who, eating know not what'

Yanque.

Surrounded by the natural beauty of the Colca Valley, the hotel Eco Inn, Colca is ideally located in the "charismatic" town of Yanque (tour book speak), on the side of the world’s second deepest canyon.

Our comfortable and cosy room ...

... offered us a spectacular panoramic view to admire the greatness of the location and breathe the freshest air.

The resident donkey welcomed us. We are getting really excited about seeing condor tomorrow

ALL IN ALL A TIRED BUT THRILLED TO BE HERE
