Andahuaylillas

We pulled off the main road and wiggled through some tiny streets until
we reached the town square of Andahuaylillas.
The Andahuaylillas District covering
eighty four square kilometers, is one of the twelve districts
in the Quispicanchi
Province in Peru.
Created on the 2nd of January 1857, its capital is the town of Andahuaylillas.
There are twenty seven populated centres with a total of five thousand four
hundred inhabitants (2005 Census). The elevation is ten thousand, two hundred
and forty three feet above sea level.
In the far right corner of the square is San Pedro
Apostol Church (undergoing restoration - own blog) - our first tour,
simply exquisite for the gold alone

The Town Square Fountain and our bus waiting
quietly

Yet another impromptu market that we are now
so used to. Next visit was to the tiny museum (own blog)

We really liked the art on sale
here

Back on the bus and wiggling back out to the main
road, we touched a few cables en route
ALL IN ALL A VERY INTERESTING LITTLE
TOWN
