View from inside, I just wish you could hear the noise and feel the vibration.

Skipper has done all of his ‘heavy’ chores and set about a bit of a spring clean. For me this meant the torture of the power washer going just above my head for what seemed like hours and hours. Just as I thought my fillings were going to be shook loose, Rhum appeared. He declared Bad Idea empty and worth a visit. No sooner the word than we were off along the walkway.

Just at the bend, Samphire looks like she’s having some major surgery too. No Bear, you cannot have one of those pontoons. We cannot have it towed behind Beez. NO.

Away to the right, there was Bad Idea, what a great new name for this derelict and abandoned lady

Forward ‘bedroom’, bilges and a few support beams is what we call “down to the wire”

The ships cats (born on a catamaran) didn’t have an official bed, so the four of us set to work

We left the boys to yet another ‘site meeting’

The plan is to ready Bad Idea within a year, charter around the Caribbean and “do the Pacific in style”. We wish the boys all the very best with their mammoth project, look forward to seeing them in the future and if you want to follow their adventure – www.badidea-begins.blogspot.com will find them. Good Luck Boys.

Back on Beez, the captain declared I cannot put this off any longer. Oh. No sooner the word than the Bosun’s chair was out, me in support and safety officer role and up he went. All just to straighten the windex that a big bird had managed to bend during a short rest stop. Tools at the ready, the job was over in a jiffy by hand. Down he came.

This week Bear’s boiled eggs have behaved beautifully so funnies go to a group of workers at Back Packers Hotel, across the river. Haven’t seen those colours in a while.

We had the absolute delight yesterday of meeting granddaughter - Faye for the first time via Skype. Gorgeous with a shock of dark hair, so happy and inquisitive. Such a pity our connection pixilated all too soon, so video had to be turned off so we could hear each other. Smashing to catch up with Adam and Jenny.

On Wednesday we went over to Mar Marine to see Skyfall. Ooo that was unexpected what happened in Scotland.

Other news. Bear spotted our gecko the other day, he’s grown an inch and seems to have set up camp under the canopy above the instruments in the cockpit. I hope he moves back indoors when we go to sea but not so fussed on his poops. He is doing a good job of keeping ants at bay, although one nest took hold under and in a winch. Bear found them during its service, they were red, bitey and one got up his shorts – result - I lost at backgammon due to the toxins in my blood.

Tomorrow we set off on a two week holiday. “Holiday” I hear you shout “For two weeks” I can hear you from here. Well ask any yachties who are serious about maintenance and keeping a girl ‘ship shape’ and they will agree that a great deal of sweat goes into the task. The job list never really gets any shorter, just changes and alters on a regular basis. I’ve still got half a dozen or so before the oven gets cleaned and the sewing machine comes out for a visit and general once around.
Alasdair has organised a surprise 60th birthday trip for MOTH – we have nicknamed Skegness here we come - and invited us along. Two days travelling on and in everything except a mule train will see us meet up. More to follow. Not a small has been packed yet– or big in your case. Steady.
Everyone who knows us knows that we are not the greatest cat lovers, but this weeks Arrrrrr picture is quite cute.
