Leaving Mindelo 13:00 on the 9th of January 2009

My first catch of the passage and served as sweet and sour with rice, Skipper tucking into his roast chicken. Second tuna served with tomato, potato salad, sweet corn, bread and butter.

One of my 02:00 shifts was in the brightest moonlight I have ever had, enough to read by. Each morning on chafe patrol Skipper found the 'suicidal flying fish' many of them tiny as seen against my wedding ring.

The "sleeping skipper series" many of you have come to love.

I even got caught this passage, but, as I bury myself, I am not such good subject matter.

Skipper filling up the water tank and getting soaked, a lovely one of the colour of the sea - a bit lumpy but still beautiful. A nice one I took of Bear.

Some random sky shots. In the fourth you can actually see that it's raining, which brought a lovely rainbow in the 5th.

The commonest view we had sailing was with just the Genoa (front one) up. My bruised, right bottom cheek. Time to hoist the flag of Barbados (YIPPEE) and the Q flag, just until we pass immigration.

The "nearly there" tired grins.

Land Ahoy.

All in all a great experience - not to be missed.
